Smile The Ephrata Fair

Last evening we went to Ephrata Fair, Lancater Counties largest. Well it was just as I had remebered some 15 years ago, the last I had attended. The streets were lined with all kinds of food and games intermingaled with rides for the children.

After having seen on WGAL news that the Lions had a special toasted cheeseburger that has been renowned for years of course I had to try one. The lines were long but the Lions had alot of help so the wait was only about 5 minutes. The toasted cheeseburger was a nice treat as were the hand cut french fries.

Of course being the big guy that I am, I had room for more, next I tried Hess's pork barbecue. Said on their sign that they were the overall champion for pork barbeque at the Hamburg, PA barbeque contest. Not bad, great fresh bun and the pork was just right not to sweet.

If you have a family I would reccomend a visit to the fair a nice way to spend the evening amongst the locals in one of the cleanest fair environments I've seen. The Ephrata fair is held annually in late September.
