I had the pleasure of playing Iron Valley Golf Course last fall (located just off route 322 between Brunnerville and Lebanon PA) and boy what a course. Designed by P.B. Dye it is a real challenge. I was once a member of a Pete Dye course in Pittsburgh and older members there would talk about the challenge that course was when it first opened. How over the years they had widened the fairways and cut down the wild grass that surrounded every hole. And that while the course was still a challenge, it was nothing like when originally opened.
I don't know when Iron Valley opened but it is a beautiful and challenging course. While I managed a PAR on the #1 handicap hole I didn't manage many others. The course is really a treat for anyone in the area and worth the drive from those that are not.
P.B. apparently learned well from dad Pete Dye, there are places you must be and you are rewarded and then there is everywhere else where you should be penalized.
Give this course a try, you'll be happy you did.
