Thumbs up Fiorentinos at Lancaster Airport?

Did you know there is an Italian restaurant at lancaster Airport?

During the 1990's I traveled alot, if you don't consider 10 months a year on the road alot then you probabley havn't traveled for work yourself. In the years I traveled I had occasion to eat many an airport meal some better than others but none really worth writing about. I even had lunch at lancasters airport while awaiting a flight.

Well I guess you would understand my surprise when my girlfriend suggested that we spend our friday date night at the airport having dinner. Of course I was a bit suspect of how an airport restaurant could possibly draw me to the airport when I wasn't travelling and while I had heard good things about Fiorentinos, I also knew that they had a restaurant on Columbia Avenue as well.

In the end I agreed, heck it was at least close to home. We were both surprised at the number of cars in the parking lost, you know there arn't alot of flights Friday night, let alone any other night. When we entered the place was pleasingly full but we were still able to get a table without a wait.

We were both pleased with our dining experience. Fiorentinos has a pasta heavy menu and normally I am reluctant to order pasta out (something to do with beign spoiled by excellent pasta during the years I spent in Italy) but I decided to try the Veal Marsala over Penne Rigate. I must say that it was presented niceley and prepared excellently, the veal was tender, the pasta perfectly al dente and just the right amount of sauce. Hey I almost thought I was back in Italy. My lady had a stuffed shell dish wiht seafood that she liked very mush as well.

To finish the meal we had to try to their Tiramisu, which turned out to be very good as well.

My only complaint is they don't serve expresso! How can an Italian restaurant, that serves an excelent al dente pasta dish, not have expresso?

If you happen to visit Fiorentinos let us know about your visit here.
