It wasn't until a few years ago the famous "Five Guys" franchise
found its way to Lancaster, PA. It wasn't until a few years ago
Lancaster, PA tasted it's favorite fast, delicious, savory, burger from Five
Guys Burgers and Fries. Five Guys takes fast food quality to a whole
new level of satisfaction and not to mention portion - EVERYTHING IS HUGE!
With the recession, it seems almost as if everyone is cutting back and trying to
save more and more everyday. Most of the places Lancaster residents
generally eat out at are cutting portion sizes of their favorite meals almost
in half and keeping the prices of these meals generally around the same
amount, but not Five Guys!
If you've never eaten at Five Guys, you will immediately be shocked
at the size of your burger if your not completely sure what you are
ordering before-hand. A "standard" burger actually sets a new standard and
includes two hamburger patties, making it extremely
fulfilling for the average person. If you aren't looking for the gut-busting
portion size, it may be a good idea to go with the "little" burger
which is made up of one average piece of meat.
The same goes for the fries, the amount of fries that fit in the cup
was as I'd expect, but the amount of fries that were dumped along
inside the bag was unreal! Five Guys is one place I will never turn
down an order of fries! Cooked fresh right there, you will not be
able to keep your fingers out of them!
Make sure you're ready when you order, because this is where it can
get a little bit trickier than your normal fast food restaurant.
Five Guys offers four versions of their mouth-watering burgers. They include:
a plain hamburger, a cheeseburger, a bacon burger, and a bacon
cheeseburger. Once you pick which burger you're ready for, you now
have the option to select your own toppings! Toppings at the Five
Guys we went to included: mayo, ketchup, mustard, jalapenos, green
peppers, A-1 Sauce, barbeque sauce, and hot sauce.
Once we finally decided and ordered, we found a table which offered a
pail of complimentary peanuts for us to snack on while we waited for
our order to be called out.
The burger at Five Guys was everything the signs hanging around on
the walls from other reviews nationwide had said it was going to be,
"delicious," "mouth-watering," " the best in town," etc.
